Job Summary

This role involves working as an Electrical Engineer specializing in the control and regulation of inverter-driven drives for marine stabilizers at SKF Marine in Hamburg. Day-to-day responsibilities include the continuous development of electrical control technology for current stabilizer product lines, performing complex electrical troubleshooting and remediation, and actively supporting the entire product lifecycle from prototype development and test runs to customer-facing harbor and sea trials. A core part of the job is adapting software and hardware to meet specific customer requirements. Candidates must hold a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Mechatronics with a focus on inverter-driven drives, coupled with professional experience in PLC programming and detailed knowledge of electrical switchgear and drive systems. The position offers an unrestricted permanent contract, flexible working hours, and the opportunity to contribute to a global leader in maritime technology.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Mechatronics with specialization in inverter-driven drives, or comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in inverter-driven drives, preferably with Danfoss or ABB products
  • Professional experience in PLC programming
  • Experience reading and creating electrical circuit diagrams
  • Field experience in the maritime or industrial sector (ideally)
