Job Summary

This temporary, part-time PhD position, based in the Department of Nuclear Medicine at TUM Klinikum / Rechts der Isar in Munich, focuses on developing and tracking novel adapter CAR-T cell therapies using Positron Emission Tomography (PET). The successful candidate will be responsible for engineering and optimizing CAR-T cells, characterizing new adapters in vitro and in vivo, and performing radiolabeling for PET/CT imaging. The role involves animal studies, complex image analysis using AI algorithms, experimental design, data interpretation, and manuscript writing. This is an excellent opportunity to work within the Collaborative Research Center 338 (“LETSimmun”), offering exposure to the full drug development pathway from molecular design to clinically applicable radiopharmaceuticals in a highly interdisciplinary, translational research environment. Candidates must possess an excellent Master's degree in a relevant scientific field and practical experience in molecular biology or organic synthesis.

Excellent university degree (Master or equivalent) in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related field

Experience

  • Practical experience in either molecular biology techniques and mammalian cell culture OR organic synthesis and chemical analysis techniques
  • Willingness to perform in vivo experiments with mice
  • Professional experience in scientific data analysis and interpretation
