Job Summary

This role involves supporting the digital transformation and IT operations within the Environmental Protection Office in Leipzig. The IT Administrator will be responsible for managing user accounts, licenses, hardware, and software, including specialized equipment. Key daily tasks include providing 2nd-level support, coordinating rollouts and updates, conducting staff training, and acting as the technical administrator for various IT applications (e.g., customizing, reporting, rights concepts, and test management). A critical component of the job is ensuring compliance with data protection (DSGVO/GDPR) and IT security standards (BSI), and participating in city-wide IT standardization projects. The ideal candidate has completed vocational training in IT, possesses organizational skills, and ideally has experience in public administration and IT security.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an IT Specialist (Application Development or System Integration) or as a Technical System Administrator

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT security (e.g., as an Information Security Officer or IT Security Manager) is desirable
  • Experience in project work is advantageous
  • Ideally, experience in municipal or public administration, combined with knowledge of administrative procedures
