Job Summary

This role involves taking a central position in developing asset strategies and principles for the protection and control systems of HVDC and FACTS facilities. The engineer will be responsible for the holistic support and management of secondary technology, developing and optimizing plant standards, technical guidelines, and concepts for protection and control. Key tasks include contributing to new construction, expansion, and replacement projects, and advancing the overall system design for integrating control and protection systems. This position offers the opportunity to drive the innovative, secure, and efficient development of the extra-high voltage grid, contributing actively to the energy transition by implementing future-proof concepts within a collaborative team environment.

Required Skills

Education

Master's/Diploma degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, Control Systems Engineering, or equivalent qualification

Experience

  • Several years of experience in protection and control technology, ideally with large-scale facilities
  • Experience in testing protection and control systems (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of control technology and communication protocols like IEC 60870 and IEC 61850 (advantageous)
  • Familiarity with norms and technical standards in energy transmission (advantageous)
