Job Summary
This role involves the design, simulation, and development of advanced optical systems for clients in the Optics and Life Science sectors. The Optical Systems Designer will be responsible for defining beam paths, simulating optical designs while considering tolerances and manufacturing requirements, and analyzing and selecting optimal optical concepts based on cost-efficiency. A key part of the job is interdisciplinary collaboration, working closely with mechanical design and electronics development teams to create prototypes. The successful candidate will need a degree in Physics, Physical Engineering, Microsystems Technology, or Mathematics, coupled with initial professional or practical experience in optical system development and proficiency in optical simulation software like Zemax or MATLAB.
