Job Summary

This position calls for a proactive Design Engineer specializing in sun protection and aluminum construction systems, joining a market leader in Northern Europe based in Cologne. The core responsibilities involve the construction of components using various manufacturing processes, such as extrusion and plastic profiles, alongside designing fixtures for test construction. A significant part of the role includes integrating electrical components into products, planning and documenting tests, and organizing the construction of full product prototypes. Collaboration with cross-functional teams like Project Management, Production, and Procurement is essential, as is coordinating with external suppliers. Candidates should possess a strong technical background, preferably a degree in Mechanical or Construction Engineering, coupled with professional experience, ideally in the roller shutter or sun protection industry with knowledge of industrial manufacturing. Experience

  • Professional experience in a roller shutter manufacturer or similar industry
  • Professional experience with industrial manufacturing processes
  • Experience in designing aluminum parts/systems (ideal)
  • Experience in designing sun protection systems, winter garden, terrace roof systems, or balcony glazing systems (ideal)
  • Experience with CAD using Creo and PDM using Windchill (advantageous)
