Job Summary
The City of Ulm is seeking a Senior System Architect to conceptualize, build, and continuously develop a central data platform, forming the digital foundation for its Smart City initiative. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing modern data management practices, including data modeling, provisioning, and establishing a Master Data Management (MDM) system for core data consolidation. Day-to-day tasks involve standardizing and automating data delivery processes, integrating relevant data sets across departments, and developing interfaces and tools using languages like Java, Python, and JavaScript. The ideal candidate possesses a university degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science) or equivalent professional training, coupled with several years of relevant senior-level experience. Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree (e.g., in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Business Mathematics) or completed vocational training as an IT Specialist with corresponding in-depth technical knowledge.
Experience
- Several years of relevant professional experience at a senior level
- Experience with databases (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
- Experience in Project Management (advantageous)
- Experience with Master Data Management Systems and API Management Platforms (e.g., Gravitee.io) (advantageous)
