Job Summary

This leadership position involves heading the Finance Team within the Virtual Graduate Center of the Max Planck Schools (MPS), focusing on the central financial coordination of this major project, including the BMBF pilot phase. The Head will be responsible for building and advancing the financial and accounting regulatory framework for the Max Planck Society (MPG), serving as the central contact for all financial aspects across partner institutions, and managing overall reporting and verification of fund usage. A core duty is the strategic alignment of financial and accounting matters with funding bodies and internal MPG stakeholders. Success requires a completed university degree in economics and comprehensive expertise in steering large, third-party funded projects, coupled with leadership experience. Candidates must possess strong knowledge of grant and budgetary law, proficiency in SAP R/3 (specifically SAP PS), and excellent German and English communication skills.
