Job Summary
This role is for an experienced Chemical Technician to join a major utility company, Stadtwerke Düsseldorf AG, working within a laboratory accredited according to DIN ISO EN 17025 standards. The core responsibilities include the critical task of sampling and analyzing water from various sources (river, ground, and drinking water) and performing essential on-site measurements. You will be responsible for the detection and quantification of both inorganic and organic parameters in water samples. A key function of the role is evaluating water chemical parameters crucial for drinking water production, treatment, and distribution, ensuring public safety and quality. The ideal candidate must possess a Chemical Technician qualification, multi-year experience in water chemical analysis, and proficiency with advanced analytical techniques such as LC-MS, GC-MS, IC, and ICP-MS. This position offers a permanent contract and the opportunity to apply specialized expertise in a highly regulated and essential public service environment.

Education
Completed training as a Chemical Technician or comparable qualification
Experience
- Multi-year professional experience in (water) chemical analysis and testing
- Experience with LC- and GC-MS, as well as other chemical measurement techniques like IC and ICP-MS
- Professional experience in an accredited testing laboratory for drinking water (ideally)
