Job Summary

The Wastewater Systems Technician will be crucial in maintaining the operational readiness of Düsseldorf's extensive 1,550 km public sewage network, two large sewage treatment plants, and 150 special structures. Day-to-day responsibilities include the cleaning, maintenance, and repair of the public sewer system, wastewater pumping stations, grease separators, street drains, and property connections. This often requires manual work, entry into the sewer system, or the use of specialized vehicles. The role also involves assisting with system inspections, potentially using hand cameras, and performing vehicle and material maintenance. Candidates must possess a qualification as an Environmental Technologist for Pipeline Networks and Industrial Plants or a related 3-year vocational trade qualification, such as a Plumber. The position demands excellent physical fitness, including suitability for respiratory protection, and requires a Class C/CE driving license or the immediate willingness to acquire it.
