Job Summary
The Leibniz Institute for Crystal Growth (IKZ) in Berlin-Adlershof is seeking an experienced Crystal Grower specializing in Czochralski (Cz) growth of semiconductor materials, specifically Silicon and Germanium. This role is crucial for advancing research in energy-efficient electronics, photonics, and quantum computing. Day-to-day responsibilities include the regular Cz-growth of high-quality Si, Ge, and SiGe single crystals, process development, optimization, and comprehensive documentation. The successful candidate will also be involved in material preparation, equipment operation and maintenance, quality assurance, and collaboration with design teams on new system development. This position requires practical experience with melt growth techniques, strong analytical skills for process data evaluation, and excellent communication abilities to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Required Skills
Education
Completed training as a Laboratory Technician (CTA, PTA, MTA) or similar, alternatively, a technical university degree (Bachelor) in Process Engineering, Material Science, or a comparable field
Experience
- Practical experience with melt growth processes for volume crystals
- Professional experience in Czochralski (Cz) growth is a unique expertise of the institute
- Experience in advanced process control (advantageous)
