Job Summary
This role involves shaping Germany's digital future by contributing to the conception, development, and evaluation of electronic identity management systems for public administration and industry. The successful candidate will work on designing security requirements for Public Key Infrastructures (PKI), addressing cryptographic challenges related to eID, and developing technical guidelines and specifications. They will also manage development projects, provide expert consultation to public and private stakeholders, and participate in national and international standardization bodies. This position is ideal for an IT security professional passionate about secure digitalization, offering a challenging and impactful role within the federal cybersecurity authority.
Required Skills
Education
University Diploma (Diplom Uni) or Master's degree in Computer Science, Technical Computer Science, IT Security, Mathematics, Physics, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable relevant field with an IT/technical focus.
Experience
- Professional experience in IT security
- Familiarity with common cryptographic concepts and Public Key Infrastructures
- Experience with international standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001, Common Criteria) is a plus
- Experience with cryptographic algorithms and protocols (e.g., Post-Quantum Cryptography) is a plus
- Experience with security of electronic identification and authentication procedures (e.g., eIDAS, BSI TR-03107) is a plus
- Experience with OpenID Connect or OAuth2.0 is a plus

- Consent to an extended security clearance check according to § 9 SÜG. Willingness to participate in further training and regular business trips (including multi-day trips). For foreign educational qualifications, proof of equivalence with a German degree from the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB) is required.
