Job Summary
This role seeks an engaged Innovation Scientist or Development Engineer specializing in Aerogel technology to join the Global Innovation department at the European headquarters in Münster. The professional will be responsible for leading end-to-end R&D activities, spanning from initial ideation and scale-up to final application development, focusing on developing new Aerogel products and optimizing manufacturing processes. Key tasks include identifying innovation opportunities, implementing new testing methods, and coordinating cross-functional teams and external partnerships. The ideal candidate must possess a Master's or PhD in a relevant Material Science field and at least two years of professional experience, ideally within the insulation sector. Strong communication skills and fluency in English are mandatory. This position involves significant international travel (up to 40%) to global production sites, offering a challenging and future-oriented career path in a market-leading company.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree, preferably PhD, in Aerogel Chemistry, Material Science, or related technologies concerning Aerogel materials.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a similar position
- Professional experience in the insulation materials sector, focusing on Aerogel materials or drying processes (Ideally)
- Practical knowledge of Aerogel manufacturing processes and material handling
- Practical experience in product development, application development, and product testing
- Experience in transferring lab results to pilot production (Beneficial)
