Job Summary

This role involves supporting the Engineering Sciences department at the Dual University of Saxony (DHSN) in Riesa, primarily focusing on Mechanical Engineering and Energy and Building Services Engineering programs. The Laboratory Engineer will be responsible for preparing, conducting, and following up on laboratory practicals, PC exercises, and cooperative projects with industry partners. Key technical areas include fluid flow generators (pumps, fans, compressors), renewable energy utilization (fuel cells, hydropower), HVAC, refrigeration, thermography, materials technology, and manufacturing metrology. Additionally, the role includes coordinating maintenance, calibration, and repairs of lab equipment, ensuring safety compliance (creating risk assessments), and assisting with building management systems. This position requires a strong technical background and offers an opportunity to contribute to both teaching and cooperative research within a dynamic public institution.

Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed relevant degree in Engineering Sciences (Energy Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields) at Bachelor's or equivalent level (Dipl.-Ing. BA/FH)

Experience

  • Professional experience in engineering practice, preferably in materials technology, testing/experimental technology, plant operation, or measurement, control, and regulation technology
  • Experience in teaching and innovative teaching concepts (Advantageous)
  • Experience with digital building management system monitoring and building management (Advantageous)
  • Experience with material testing procedures (tensile test, hardness testing, metallography) and metrology (Advantageous)
