Job Summary

This role involves working independently within the Safety Management and RAM (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety) Management sphere for the development and operation of train control systems, specifically focusing on the interoperable European Train Control System (ETCS). Key responsibilities include planning and tracking norm-compliant processes, creating comprehensive documentation, and performing detailed quantitative and qualitative safety and reliability analyses (e.g., FMECA, FTA). The specialist will also be responsible for generating safety and RAM verification records, managing external interfaces with developers, auditors, and conformity assessment bodies, and supporting national and international approval processes. Candidates must possess a technical degree in Electrical Engineering, IT, or Railway Technology, along with foundational knowledge of railway safety technology and fluent proficiency in both German and English, coupled with a willingness to travel across Europe.

Education

Completed technical degree (HTL/FH/University) specializing in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or Railway Technology

Experience

  • Independent professional experience in Safety Management and RAM Management for complex systems
  • Experience planning and executing norm-compliant processes and documentation
  • Professional experience conducting quantitative and qualitative safety and reliability analyses
  • Experience managing interfaces with external RAMS partners (auditors, developers)
  • Experience supporting national and international authorization and approval processes
