Job Summary

This role involves acting as an IT Specialist focusing on virtualization and cloud architecture within the IT and Data Security department of the Archdiocese of Paderborn. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating on the planning and design of the VMware vSphere virtualization environment and optimizing the Microsoft 365 Tenant architecture. A core responsibility is ensuring optimal integration between the local (on-premises) VMware infrastructure and the Microsoft Cloud (Azure/M365). The specialist will also install, configure, and administer the VMware vSphere environment (ESXi, vCenter) and manage Microsoft 365 services like Exchange Online, Teams, and OneDrive. Candidates must possess a degree or vocational training in IT System Integration, coupled with practical experience in VMware vSphere and M365/Azure AD administration. Required Skills

Education

Completed degree (FH/Bachelor) in Computer Science - Specialization System Integration, OR completed vocational training as an IT Specialist - Specialization System Integration with corresponding professional experience.

Experience

  • Practical experience in the administration and operation of VMware vSphere environments
  • Knowledge in the administration and configuration of Microsoft 365 (M365) services and Azure Active Directory (Entra ID)
  • Experience and knowledge in Windows Server, network technologies, and storage connectivity
  • Experience in Backup Solutions, IT Security, and Project Management (ideal)
