Job Summary
This role seeks an experienced Linux Specialist to join the Open-Source department of one of Germany's largest municipal IT service providers, the KRZN. The specialist will be crucial in developing and administering the system management environment, focusing heavily on automation, configuration management, and containerization platforms like Kubernetes and Rancher. Day-to-day tasks include the administration and enhancement of monitoring (Icinga, Grafana, Prometheus) and centralized logging systems (ELK/OpenSearch), troubleshooting errors, and contributing to standardization projects in line with IT security standards. The ideal candidate possesses strong Linux OS knowledge, experience with complex system and network environments, and familiarity with products like Puppet and Docker/Kubernetes. This position offers a stable, full-time, and permanent contract with flexible working hours and home office options, supporting over 18,000 office workstations in municipal administrations.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (Bachelor/Master) in Computer Science or equivalent, OR completed vocational training as an IT Specialist in System Integration or comparable knowledge and experience.
Experience
- Professional experience in implementing and administering Puppet, Docker, and/or Kubernetes
- Professional experience with complex system and network environments under Windows and Linux
- Professional experience in the IT environment of a production company (ideally multi-year)
- Experience with the implementation and administration of monitoring and logging products (Icinga, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK/OpenSearch)
