Job Summary

This role involves supporting the Faculty of Engineering Sciences at the HTWK Leipzig by ensuring the operational readiness of experimental setups in energy and environmental technology laboratories. Key responsibilities include regular inspection, maintenance, and cleaning of equipment, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and conducting control measurements. The technician will also be crucial in supporting student practicals, which involves instructing students on equipment handling, assisting teaching staff, and preparing and updating digital and physical instructional materials, such as manuals, protocols, and drawings. The ideal candidate holds a degree or equivalent qualification in Chemistry or Physics Laboratory work, possesses practical experience in environmental analysis, chemical measurement technology, and strong organizational and IT skills. This is an attractive, permanent, part-time position (50%) offering a responsible role within a supportive academic environment.

Completed vocational training as a Chemical Laboratory Technician, Physics Laboratory Technician, or equivalent qualification

Experience

  • Professional experience in physical and chemical laboratory work
  • Practical experience with experiments for fuel characterization in environmental analysis
  • Practical experience in chemical measurement technology
  • Experience working with students (desirable)
