Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT professional to join the municipal administration in Fredersdorf-Vogelsdorf, focusing on system and specialized application administration. The role involves managing, operating, and developing the IT infrastructure for the core administration and subordinate units like schools and libraries. Key responsibilities include administering Windows and Linux servers, managing Active Directory, and ensuring the stable operation of both on-premise and cloud-based specialized applications. The successful candidate will drive the technical modernization process, including digital and AI-supported initiatives, provide qualified second-level user support, and contribute to IT security strategy implementation (BSI IT-Grundschutz/ISO 27001). This position requires strong technical expertise in virtualization (VMware vSphere), networking, and database administration, coupled with excellent service orientation and communication skills to support both colleagues and citizens in their digital interactions with the administration.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Bachelor or Diploma) in IT (e.g., Computer Science, Business Informatics) or a comparable field, OR a completed vocational training in IT (e.g., IT Specialist for System Integration) with several years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Several years of relevant professional experience in system and server administration
  • Several years of professional experience in the administration of Windows and Linux systems
  • Experience in the operation and administration of E-mail systems and databases
  • Experience in collaborating with specialized departments and external software providers (Desirable)
  • Experience with VDI environments (e.g., Omnissa Horizon, Instant Clones) (Desirable)
  • Experience in handling ticket systems and IT inventory management (Desirable)
