Job Summary
This role involves supporting cutting-edge research in Neuroimmunology at the University Hospital Bonn (UKB), focusing specifically on Multiple Sclerosis and related neuroinflammatory diseases. The successful candidate will coordinate and manage animal experimentation, particularly involving transgenic and potentially germ-free mouse studies, including breeding, genotyping (PCR/RT-PCR), and meticulous documentation according to regulatory requirements. Day-to-day tasks also include performing cell cultures, flow cytometry, microbiology, and molecular biology experiments (cloning, PCR). This position is ideal for a highly motivated and organized individual with a background as a Biological Laboratory Technician or equivalent, offering a permanent contract within an interdisciplinary team dedicated to translating laboratory findings into clinical applications to improve patient quality of life.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as a Biological Laboratory Technician (Biologielaborant), BTA/MTA, or relevant university degree
Experience
- Multiple years of documented experience in animal experimentation (required for inclusion in animal testing applications)
- Experience in breeding and managing transgenic mice
- Experience working with germ-free mice (advantageous)
