Job Summary

The Scientific Computing Center (SCC) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is seeking a Data Transfer Specialist to join the Scientific Data Management department. This role focuses on the operation, maintenance, and development of user-friendly file transfer tools for scientific environments, specifically between endpoints like the Large Scale Data Facility (LSDF) and the bwDataArchiv. Key responsibilities include operating and enhancing existing WebDAV, FTS, and LSDF web portal services, extending the WebDAV protocol to support third-party transfers using FTS and OIDC-based authentication via an Apache module, and integrating these services into the AAI infrastructures of KIT and NFDI. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics, possesses strong skills in C and Python programming, and has experience with Linux server administration and configuration management systems like Ansible/Puppet.
