This role as an IT Service Technician involves critical hands-on work within a data center environment, supporting an established technology service provider. The core responsibilities include the installation, configuration, and commissioning of complex IT and network systems. Day-to-day tasks will involve the professional mounting and integration of hardware, network, and transmission technology, alongside crucial maintenance, functional checks, and comprehensive troubleshooting across the IT infrastructure. A key component of the job is the precise cabling of server and network technology, including performing necessary firmware and BIOS updates, and adapting hardware as required. Candidates must possess a completed technical vocational qualification, such as an IT Systems Electronics Technician or an IT Specialist for System Integration, coupled with specific experience in fiber optic cabling (MPO). The position requires excellent reliability, structured working methods, and a willingness to participate in on-call rotations and occasional night shifts.
