The Obsolescence Manager at Siemens Mobility plays a critical role in ensuring the long-term availability of spare parts for high-speed and local trains, locomotives, trams, and rail automation solutions. This position involves systematically monitoring vehicle fleets for known or potential obsolescence issues, coordinating various solution options to secure fleet availability, and evaluating received product discontinuations. Day-to-day tasks include preparing information, communicating risks to clients, and developing specific obsolescence management solutions, including necessary documentation and collaboration with interfaces like Engineering. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering, complemented by additional qualifications in Procurement, SCM/Logistics, or Contract Management. Experience in the rail transport sector, knowledge of IEC 62402 standards, and proficiency in German (Fluent) and English (Good) are essential for success in this challenging and vital role within the mobility sector.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering. Additional qualifications in Procurement, SCM / Logistics, or Contract Management.
