Job Summary
This role involves serving as a Test Engineer, focusing on the independent testing and certification of medical devices, specifically concerning EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility), radiation protection, and electrical and mechanical safety. Day-to-day tasks include planning, executing, and documenting tests according to international standards (e.g., IEC 60601 type-testing), evaluating product changes for safety, and conducting supplementary tests to ensure product delivery capability. The engineer will act as a central contact person for internal clients regarding type-testing by external bodies (TÜV, UL) and provide global consultation on legal and normative requirements for medical devices. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics, possesses several years of professional experience testing complex electronic systems, and is fluent in German and proficient in business English. This position offers significant flexibility, allowing up to 60% mobile work within Germany and opportunities for international collaboration and travel.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics. Bachelor's degree or completed vocational training with additional professional experience is also considered.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in testing complex electronic systems
- Experience in an accredited testing laboratory (ideal)
- Experience in risk management (ideal)
- Knowledge of medical devices and the IEC 60601 standard family (ideal)
Languages
Additional
- Willingness to travel within Germany (Forchheim, Kemnath) and occasional international travel (approx. 10 days/year, planned).
