Job Summary

This Senior IT System Engineer role focuses on designing and implementing robust Enterprise Linux environments for clients across various sectors. The successful candidate will analyze customer challenges, derive concrete technical requirements, and lead complex projects focused on Enterprise Linux distributions (like SLES, RHEL, Ubuntu, Oracle Linux), virtualization (VMware, XEN, KVM), and system migrations (P2V/V2V). A key part of the role involves conceptualizing, implementing, and monitoring complex job chains, including shell scripting and implementation. You will work closely with internal Unix and Linux teams at customer sites to ensure stable and high-performing system landscapes. This position requires strong expertise in data center architectures, a structured and independent working style, and a high degree of customer and service orientation, with deployment primarily in Berlin or Munich.
