Job Summary

This role involves joining the IT team at Stadtwerke Ilmenau GmbH, a municipal energy supply company, to manage and maintain their critical IT infrastructure. The System Administrator will be responsible for the full lifecycle administration of server, network, and storage systems, with a strong focus on both Windows and Linux environments. Key daily tasks include installing, configuring, and maintaining these operating systems, managing virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), ensuring robust IT security, performing backups, and conducting monitoring and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate should possess a degree or vocational qualification in IT, coupled with several years of system administration experience and strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, firewalls, and VPNs.
