Job Summary

This is a unique, foundation-funded Research Professorship focused on Software-Based Administrative Automation within the Digital Administration department at the Meißen University of Applied Sciences. The role, initially limited to three years with the goal of permanence, requires the successful candidate to dedicate 70% of their time to research and 30% to teaching. Day-to-day, you will focus on the conception, development, implementation, and operation of software systems designed to automate public administration processes, covering the entire software lifecycle from requirements analysis to quality assurance. A central goal is translating digitalization into tangible use cases for public administration, often in close collaboration with the Lecos GmbH Digital Workshop. Key qualifications include an academic background in Computer Science or related fields, proven scientific ability (typically through a doctorate), and substantial professional experience, including time spent outside academia, focusing on the professorship's technical profile.

Completed university degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Administrative Informatics, Media Informatics, or a comparable field; Doctoral degree (PhD) required as proof of special scientific aptitude.

Experience

  • 5 years of professional practice in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods
  • At least 3 years of professional practice outside the higher education sector
