Job Summary
This role involves supporting high-level fusion research by operating and maintaining complex neutral particle injection (NBI) systems, crucial for heating plasma to over 100 million Kelvin for experiments like ITER and ASDEX Upgrade. The Technician will be responsible for the setup, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical components within experimental facilities, including vacuum-compatible assembly for ion sources and extraction systems. Key duties also involve supporting the setup and commissioning of measuring devices and data acquisition components, as well as providing prompt damage repair during malfunctions. Candidates must possess a qualification as a state-certified Technician in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Physical Technology, coupled with at least two years of relevant professional experience. Knowledge of vacuum technology, electrical engineering, and measurement/control technology is highly beneficial, alongside strong teamwork and independent working skills. This position offers varied activities and high chances of permanent employment.
