Job Summary
This role is ideal for a qualified Biological Laboratory Specialist or Biotechnology Technical Assistant seeking to apply advanced genetic diagnostic techniques within a leading German reproduction and animal breeding company. The specialist will be responsible for processing animal samples using cutting-edge methods, including PCR-based microsatellite typing, genetic defect analysis, and SNP typing, often leveraging high-throughput technologies. Key daily tasks involve meticulous documentation of all investigations and the essential maintenance and servicing of analytical and measuring equipment, ensuring strict adherence to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 standards. Candidates must possess fundamental knowledge of DNA isolation and PCR-based methods, coupled with strong analytical skills and reliability. Experience with laboratory databases and accredited lab environments is highly beneficial. Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as a Biological Laboratory Technician or Biological Technical Assistant, OR a Bachelor of Science in Biology
Experience
- Professional experience in DNA isolation from various sample materials
- Professional experience with PCR-based methods
- Experience in handling high-throughput technologies (desirable)
- Experience in SNP typing or Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) (advantageous)
- Experience with laboratory databases
- Experience in an accredited laboratory (advantageous)
