Job Summary
This role involves contributing significantly to the economic policy debate in Germany and Europe by working on the development and application of the ifo Microsimulation Model, specifically focusing on the tax and transfer system. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating on socio-economic policy issues, developing and selecting suitable empirical behavioral analysis methods, and maintaining and optimizing the software tools surrounding the ifo Tax and Transfer Behavioral Microsimulation Model. The successful candidate will also participate in policy consulting projects, technically implement economic behavioral models (e.g., in labor market, consumption, taxation, and poverty), and publish results in an accessible format to influence public debate. Required Skills
Education
Master's degree in Economics, Social Sciences, Econometrics, Business Statistics, Business Informatics, Statistics, Data Science, or Computer Science
Experience
- Initial experience in computer science or software development/programming, or willingness to acquire it
- Knowledge and experience in empirical economic research, especially with microdata, or strong interest in related research topics
