Job Summary

The IT Infrastructure Specialist will join the Central Data Processing unit of the Rhineland-Palatinate Tax Administration in Koblenz, focusing on administering and operating the core infrastructure for the new tax investigation environment. Day-to-day tasks include managing Windows Server infrastructures, including VMware vSphere virtualization, maintaining Active Directory and Microsoft File-Server environments, and providing conceptual support for an Omnissa Horizon-based VDI infrastructure. A key responsibility involves application support for the forensic software "Nuix," which aids in investigating tax crimes and offenses. The role requires strong knowledge of current Windows Server operating systems, virtualization, Linux administration, and scripting languages (like PowerShell or Java). This position is crucial for ensuring efficient case processing through high-performing IT operations, demanding high resilience, engagement, and the ability to handle complex problem-solving independently.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or comparable degree; alternatively, certified IT Specialist for System Integration qualification

Experience

  • Successfully completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration with at least three years of professional experience
  • Professional experience with current Windows Server operating systems and architectures
  • Practical experience in virtualization with VMware
  • Practical experience in Linux administration
  • Practical experience in Storage and SAN areas
  • Practical experience in handling complex error situations
  • Practical experience in using common programming or scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, HTML, Java)
