Job Summary
This role involves the comprehensive operation, monitoring, and maintenance of IT systems for the City of Forchheim's Information Technology Office, with a specific focus on supporting local primary and secondary school IT infrastructure. The specialist will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software within client/server environments, utilizing virtualization technologies like VMware. Key daily tasks include user support, managing user accounts and permissions, troubleshooting system failures, and supporting Office and specialized applications both remotely and on-site. The position requires a qualified IT professional with strong knowledge of Windows Client/Server operating systems and organizational skills to handle documentation, error descriptions, and IT procurement processes, ensuring smooth IT operations across the municipality.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as an IT Technician, IT Specialist for System Integration, or equivalent specialized training
Experience
- Professional experience in IT system maintenance and troubleshooting
- Knowledge in handling Windows Client/Server operating systems
- Experience with virtualization technologies, specifically VMware (desired)
- Experience with Linux (advantageous)
