Job Summary

This role as an (Senior) Accountant in Munich, working for a leading international commercial law firm, involves taking responsibility for core financial and tax compliance duties. Day-to-day tasks include the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements compliant with the German Commercial Code (HGB), managing various tax declarations (VAT, payroll, income, and corporate tax), and coordinating with external tax advisors. A key focus is leading projects aimed at optimizing accounting processes and implementing new financial reporting standards, alongside establishing and maintaining robust internal control systems (ICS) to mitigate financial risks. The ideal candidate must be highly motivated, possess strong communication skills, and have a hands-on mentality. Required qualifications include either completing training as a Certified Tax Clerk and pursuing/completing further training as a Certified Accountant or Tax Specialist, or holding a degree in economics with an accounting specialization.
