Job Summary
This 3-year, part-time (65%) Research Assistant position at the University of Marburg's Microcosm Earth Center offers a unique opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree focusing on bacterial transformation. The successful candidate will investigate the function and regulation of nucleases involved in DNA uptake in the model organism *Bacillus subtilis*. Day-to-day tasks involve rigorous scientific services, including the biochemical and structural characterization of nucleases, alongside cell biological and physiological analysis of bacterial strains. Key qualifications include an MSc in Biology, Microbiology, or a related scientific field, practical experience with BSL1 organisms, and familiarity with standard molecular and biochemical techniques. Required Skills
Education
MSc-degree or equivalent in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related scientific field. Expected completion of a Doctoral Degree.
