Job Summary

This critical role supports the Institute for Water and Environment (IWU) by ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of its entire IT infrastructure. The administrator serves as the central technical contact, managing the full lifecycle of IT resources, including the procurement and support of hardware, software, workstations, peripherals, and data/compute servers. Daily tasks involve deep administration and support for diverse operating environments, including Windows Server, Windows Desktop, Linux, and Android, alongside managing core services like MS Exchange and Active Directory. Furthermore, the role involves the maintenance and development of non-commercial and proprietary software, managing the DNS system, and updating the institute's public internet presence using CMS OpenText. The position requires a B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent vocational training combined with significant professional experience, offering excellent working conditions within an international research environment.

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Science OR completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in IT system integration (if vocational training path is followed)
  • Profound knowledge and professional experience in Windows, Linux, and network technologies
  • Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) and web technologies
