Job Summary
This role seeks an experienced Experimental Physicist or Development Engineer to drive the creation of modern incoherent light sources utilizing advanced LED and laser technologies for industrial and research applications. The core responsibilities involve end-to-end system-oriented product development, spanning from initial laboratory setups to final robust products. Day-to-day tasks include building, commissioning, measuring, and optimizing light sources, alongside integrating diverse technical components including optics, electronics, mechanics, microprocessors, and thermal management systems. The ideal candidate possesses a broad technical understanding, extensive laboratory experience, and strong practical skills in optics, photonics, and laser technology. Success requires a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach, strong communication skills for interdisciplinary teamwork, and proficiency in technical German and English documentation. This is a full-time, permanent position offering high responsibility and creative freedom within a small, interdisciplinary team.
Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree (Master/Diploma/Doctorate) in Physics, Experimental Physics, Photonics, or a comparable field.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in a laboratory environment (not an entry-level profile)
- Extensive professional experience in Optics, Photonics, and Laser Technology
- Practical experience handling electronics, metrology, sensors, and cameras
- Practical experience with microprocessors (ideally)
