Job Summary

This role involves working as a Materials Testing Engineer within the aerospace industry, focusing on the analysis, evaluation, and validation of aerospace-specific metallic materials. Day-to-day tasks include assessing materials in all states—from forged and cast parts to finished products—and evaluating material conditions following mechanical processing or specialized treatments like welding, thermal, or surface treatments, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). The engineer will be crucial in establishing and monitoring quality processes related to materials and special processes, providing essential support to internal manufacturing teams and suppliers. Key requirements include a degree (preferably Master's or Diploma) in Materials Engineering, fundamental knowledge of material processing and special processes, and fluent proficiency in both German and English. This position offers the opportunity to apply specialized materials expertise directly to critical aerospace components, ensuring quality and compliance.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Master's or Diploma preferred) in Materials Engineering or a related field with a focus on Materials Technology

Experience

  • Knowledge and experience in special processes (e.g., welding, heat treatment, surface treatments)
  • Fundamental knowledge in material processing including the influence of mechanical processing on surface structure
  • Certification Level III or experienced Level II (EN4179/NAS410) in Non-Destructive Testing for fluorescent penetrant inspection and X-ray inspection (Desirable)
