Job Summary

The Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf is seeking a Biological Technical Assistant to join the Institute of Plant Biochemistry, focusing on cutting-edge molecular and biochemical techniques in plant biology, specifically the molecular basis and evolutionary aspects of photosynthetic carbon dioxide assimilation in land plants and algae. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating on interdisciplinary research projects, operating complex analytical systems, and applying modern OMICS techniques (Genomics, Transcriptomics, Metabolomics). The role also involves laboratory management, including ordering and inventory control, maintaining technical equipment, and supporting teaching activities by supervising student projects and practical courses. Candidates must have a completed BTA qualification or a Bachelor's degree in Biology or Biochemistry, coupled with experience in molecular and microbiological methods, cloning strategies (Gibson Assembly, Golden Gate Cloning), and protein characterization.
