Job Summary

This role involves hands-on materials testing within the aerospace industry, focusing specifically on metal technology in Hannover-Langenhagen. The technician will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of sample analysis, including preparing samples (cutting, grinding, embedding, and polishing) using specialized machinery, and conducting various tests such as adhesion, hardness, and roughness measurements on components and samples. A core duty is the meticulous documentation of all procedures and results in the Grinding Book and accompanying component documentation, ensuring quality control throughout the process. Furthermore, the role requires monitoring and optimizing existing work procedures, identifying potential for improvement, and contributing to the development and testing of new analysis methods for complex samples (e.g., Plasma, CVD, Sermalloy). The ideal candidate brings a background in materials testing or metal processing, basic IT/SAP skills, and strong English proficiency, operating independently within a supportive team environment.

Required Skills

Education

Completed training as a Materials Tester (Werkstoffprüfer) or equivalent training in metal processing.

Experience

  • Completed training as a Materials Tester
  • Professional experience in metal processing
  • Several years of practical experience in metallography or materials testing (if holding training in metal processing)
