Job Summary
This role is for a Biological Technician at the Institute of Pathology, Ruhr University Bochum, located at the Bergmannsheil University Hospital. The technician will be integral to comprehensive pathohistological diagnostics, handling approximately 260,000 tissue samples annually. Daily responsibilities include preparing paraffin and frozen sections using state-of-the-art equipment, operating modern automated staining machines, assisting with rapid section procedures, macroscopic tissue trimming, and creating microscopic and cytological slides. Candidates must possess a successfully completed qualification as a Biological-Technical Assistant, demonstrating meticulous and precise working methods alongside strong concentration skills. This position offers the opportunity to work in a highly modern laboratory environment, contributing to vital diagnostic services and specialized areas like the German Mesothelioma Register, operating within a structured two-shift system. The role is initially full-time and fixed-term for one year.
