Job Summary

This role is for an experienced Data Engineer focused on creating computationally viable and consistent digital twins from diverse energy grid data. Day-to-day responsibilities include integrating and linking various data sources from grid operators, such as GIS, billing systems, control centers, and sensor data. The engineer will be crucial in developing scalable data pipelines and integration logic, preparing data for use in simulation and planning models, and evaluating new technologies to enhance data quality and automation. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Computer Science or Data Science, or possesses at least two years of professional experience as a Data Engineer. Essential technical skills include strong proficiency in Python for data processing (e.g., pandas), experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, and familiarity with software testing and Git. Required Skills

Education

University degree (FH or equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, or a comparable field

Experience

  • At least two years of professional experience as a Data Engineer (alternative to degree)

  • Experience with software testing and maintainability

Additional

  • Close cooperation and communication required with grid operators and municipal utilities, necessitating very good German language skills.
