Job Summary

This role involves working as a Field Engineer and Supervisory Officer within the statutory accident insurance sector, focusing on the printing and paper processing industries in the Kassel region and Northern Hesse. Day-to-day responsibilities include advising member companies on occupational safety and health regulations, analyzing workplace hazards (physical, chemical, psychological), and developing strategies for safe work system design by integrating technology, organization, and human behavior. The officer will mandate necessary safety measures, conduct accident investigations, and prepare expert reports on occupational diseases. Key requirements include a scientific university degree (Master's level) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable field, plus at least two years of relevant professional experience. Successful candidates must be prepared for extensive field work, frequent travel, and possess excellent German and good English language skills. The position offers a secure environment within the public service, flexible hours, and the potential for a civil servant appointment (Beamtenverhältnis) after successful completion of the supervisory officer training.

Required Skills

Education

Completed scientific university degree (Dipl.-Ing. (Univ./TH/TU), M.Eng. or M.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable field. Completed training as a Supervisory Officer is advantageous, otherwise, a two-year training program will be sponsored.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in industry or skilled trades
  • Professional experience in occupational safety supervision (advantageous, but training provided)
  • Experience in consulting and supporting member companies

  • Willingness to conduct extensive field service and frequent, sometimes multi-day, business trips throughout Germany. Must possess a Class B driving license.
