Job Summary

This role, based in Strausberg near Berlin, involves managing and maintaining public traffic areas and drainage systems for the municipality. The Civil Engineer will act as the client representative, overseeing the planning and construction of public transport and rainwater/sewage disposal facilities. Key responsibilities include managing assets for regulated storm and wastewater disposal, maintaining second-order standing and flowing waters, and coordinating with utility concession holders. The position requires independent planning and execution of repair measures, involvement in awarding construction and engineering contracts, and processing the general drainage plan. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Civil Engineering, preferably specialized in underground and road construction, and possesses strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills to ensure efficient municipal infrastructure management.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree (Bachelor, Dipl.-Ing., Master) in Civil Engineering, preferably specialized in underground and road construction, OR a successful completion as a state-certified Civil Engineering Technician (Tiefbau), OR a corresponding Master Craftsman qualification with cross-trade knowledge.

Experience

  • Professional experience in civil engineering, preferably specialized in underground and road construction
  • Experience acting as client representative (Bauherrenvertretung) in construction projects
  • Experience with repair measure planning and execution
  • Experience with coordination of concession holders and utility administrations
