Job Summary
This is a full-time, permanent professorship at the Dual University of Saxony (DHSN), Glauchau Campus, focusing on Applied Computer Science with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Transformation. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and cooperative research, covering areas such as the development of intelligent systems, big data analysis, machine learning algorithms in technical applications, and designing digital transformation processes across various sectors. The role is interdisciplinary, engaging with three core competence fields: Digital Transformation in SMEs, Construction & Energy, and Automotive, Mobility & Engineering. Key duties involve enabling students to apply AI and digital technologies in areas like automation, embedded systems, cybersecurity, and Industry 4.0, requiring deep technical expertise combined with business acumen and a focus on security and sustainability.
Required Skills
Education
Doctorate or equivalent academic qualification required for a W2 Professorship. Habilitation or equivalent academic achievements preferred.
Experience
- Explicit proof of competence in at least three of the specified technical areas (Software Engineering, AI, Cyber Security, etc.)
- Professional experience in applied computer science with a focus on AI methods and digital transformation
- Experience in integrating complex IT systems into business strategies
- Experience in academic teaching and cooperative research

- Possibility of appointment to a civil servant relationship (Beamtenverhältnis). Must meet the general requirements for a W2 Professorship in Saxony.
