Job Summary
This is a multifaceted role combining software development, data engineering, and scientific research within an innovative ophthalmology practice focused on cataract surgery and IOL calculation optimization. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing clinical and administrative workflows, developing internal evaluation tools for business controlling, and automating recurring processes using technologies like PHP and JavaScript. A significant portion of the role involves scientific data analysis, including extracting and preparing clinical data for studies, performing statistical evaluations, and developing predictive models using Python, R, and machine learning techniques. Furthermore, the role requires modernizing the data infrastructure, migrating legacy systems to scalable solutions (Python, C++), building a sustainable data architecture, and ensuring strict IT security and GDPR compliance. This position offers a unique blend of practical IT management and cutting-edge medical research, providing significant scope for shaping the practice's data landscape and contributing to scientific publications.
Required Skills
Education
Degree or training in Computer Science, Medical Informatics, Business Informatics, Physics, Mathematics, or comparable qualification. Engaged career changers with demonstrable programming skills are also welcome.

- Professional experience in data management and analysis
- Experience with version control (Git)
- Experience with Python, R, SQL/MySQL, PHP, and JavaScript
- Experience in API development and XML data processing
- Experience in statistical methods and data management
- Knowledge of IT security and data protection (DSGVO)
