Job Summary

This full-time, fixed-term position as a Finance and Budget Administrator at the Center for Synthetic Microbiology, supporting the Microbes-for-Climate (M4C) Cluster of Excellence, involves comprehensive financial management and administrative support for research projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include the independent management of third-party funds, such as monitoring accounts, coordinating fund disbursement to project partners, and preparing mandatory financial reports (interim and final verification of use). The role also requires handling accounting and procurement processes using SAP and WPS, preparing personnel documentation for hires, and managing the employment of student assistants. Candidates must possess a completed commercial or administrative qualification, coupled with proven experience in financial management and third-party fund administration. Proficiency in MS Office and SAP is essential, alongside excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle independent correspondence with funding agencies. Fluency in both written and spoken German and English is a mandatory requirement.

Required Skills

Completed commercial training, completed training as an administrative specialist, or comparable qualification acquired through long-term relevant professional experience.
