Job Summary

This role involves working as a Geodata Technician within the Geodata and Traffic Systems department for the City of Osnabrück. The core responsibilities include the capture, generalization, and digitalization of geographic data using the municipal Geoinformation System (GIS), primarily based on Esri software. Day-to-day tasks involve integrating spatial information to support urban planning and administrative processes, maintaining municipal specialized registers (e.g., road databases using pit-Kommunal), and conducting fieldwork for data collection and verification. The technician will also be responsible for creating geographic evaluations, spatial analyses, and presenting results clearly through thematic maps. Candidates must possess a completed vocational training in surveying, geomatics, construction drafting, or a related field with a focus on GIS or CAD, along with practical experience in GIS, especially Esri ArcGIS, and a willingness to work outdoors.
