Job Summary
This role is a challenging and impactful opportunity for a Climate Protection Manager to lead and implement climate action strategies for the municipality of Neubiberg, aiming for a climate-neutral administration by 2030 and a climate-neutral community by 2040. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying potentials, planning, and steering climate protection concepts, including representing the municipality in inter-communal networks focused on geothermal energy, heat transition, and wind power. Day-to-day tasks involve preparing municipal council meetings, managing e-charging station infrastructure, acquiring project funding, and driving public relations efforts through various media and collaboration with local actors. The position requires a degree in a relevant field like energy or sustainability, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a public administration setting. This is a full-time, initially three-year fixed-term position (parental leave cover) located near Munich.
Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree (Bachelor or Master) with a focus on Energy, Climate Protection, Resource Management, or Sustainability, or comparable qualifications
Experience
- Professional experience in public administration operations (ideally)
- Experience in identifying tasks and potentials for climate protection concepts
- Experience with EDV applications (MS Office, Internet)
