Job Summary

This role is for an experienced Field Engineer to act as a supervisor, advising and supporting member companies in the fine mechanics and electrical engineering industries within the Dortmund area. The successful candidate will analyze operational hazards, including physical, chemical, psychological, and social factors, and assess the interplay of technology, organization, and human behavior to ensure safe work systems. Key responsibilities include advising on and enforcing occupational safety regulations, conducting training sessions, investigating occupational diseases and accidents, and contributing to publications. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Dipl.-Ing. (Univ./TH/TU), M.Eng. or M.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering or a comparable field. Completed training as a supervisor (advantageous, but training provided if not available).

Experience

  • At least two years of professional experience in an industrial or commercial enterprise
  • Professional experience in advising and supporting companies on occupational safety
  • Experience in analyzing operational hazards and work systems
  • Experience in conducting training and presentations

  • Class B driving license required. Willingness to conduct frequent, sometimes multi-day business trips throughout Germany. Must reside in the designated supervisory area (Dortmund and surroundings). Willingness to hold training sessions at BG ETEM educational locations.
