Job Summary

This role is a two-year fixed-term position within a central laboratory in Mönchengladbach, supporting water management activities in North Rhine-Westphalia. The technician will be responsible for the full cycle of environmental sample handling, including manual sampling of wastewater, surface water, and groundwater, followed by preparation and analysis of solid and liquid samples. Core daily duties involve performing equipment calibrations, meticulously executing and documenting internal quality assurance (QA) measures, and evaluating analysis runs before accurately logging all measurements into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Candidates must have completed formal training as a Chemical Laboratory Technician or possess an equivalent qualification. Fluency in German (C1 level minimum) is mandatory, alongside strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a high degree of flexibility and responsibility.

Completed training as a Chemical Laboratory Technician or equivalent qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in chemical laboratory operations (Desirable)
  • Analytical experience applying standard environmental procedures (Desirable)
  • Initial experience working in a DIN EN ISO 17025 accredited testing laboratory (Desirable)
  • Experience with Laboratory Information Management Software (LIMS) (Desirable)
